In memory:
El Fathead Rotundo von Zeus

Eric, Great site!!!  The care and time you dedicate to your calling is to be admired!!!!  I check the site frequently, and am always amazed at the volume of beautiful, adoptable companions.   We have only owned one Pit / Amstaff, but cannot see a reason to ever adopt anything else....you get the whole package with a Pit, and free exfoliating kisses daily!!!

Unfortunately, we recently suffered a loss of our companion, and the void that has been left cannot be expressed by words.  We focus on the 10+ good years he would not have had, as we were a perfect match!!!

He could do no wrong, and we had (had....) some money in the bank to replace little things like...couches, beepers, cabinets, shoes, window moulding, food processors, the disk in his spine when it disintegrated, and both of his knee caps (he probably was a pro running back in his previous life, hence the wear and tear).

We realize that he was too beautiful to be kept on this earth for too long, and were blessed with almost 11 great years!!

His impact on all he met, except the ones who walked across the street, instilled an understanding of the breed that is not depicted in the press, because it doesn't sell newspapers.

Headlines like, 'Loves to Cuddle', ' Great with Kids', 'A Fat Headed Love Bunny' will not bring home the bacon like 'Mauled' 'Scarred for Life' and 'Pack of Wild Dogs..." do.

Unfortunately, any breed can do that, and there is no shortage of incompetent owners that allow it to happen!!!

Education is the key!!

My wife and I are devastated, and although we knew that this day would come, we never expected it to. Christmas will be impossible to deal with, as the highlight of our holiday was watching Zeus open his presents.

His enthusiasm, inquisitive demeanor, and zest for life will be an inspiration for everyone that knew him. He is truly the epitome of the breed, and will live in our hearts forever.

Sincerely, Jeanne and David
