We resume in the surgical suite...
Little Elmo is secured to the table... |
Dr. I takes a second to explain the monitoring equipment and the Engler, the "blueprint for breathing" machine -- which helps administer the anesthesia and monitors (and assists) breathing... |
A close-up of the Engler and Isoflurane unit... |
The master prepares for his craft... |
The surgical area is isolated, and we're ready to roll...
First, the incision is made with a radio-surgical unit, which doesn't burn molecules to cut them (he explains), but instead cuts between them...
... and is nearly complete... |
... after a little enlargening and massaging...
... out comes testicle #1 -- |
-- which will be isolated. |
The testicle is clamped off... |
... and the suturing begins, before severing the testicle... |
... the internal suture is almost complete... |
... and with that, testicle #1 is removed... |
Now we go looking for testicle #2... |
... and it is easily found -- |
The testicle is then removed and clamped off -- |
and the suturing begins... |
The final cut -- note the suture -- |
... removal of testicle #2 complete... |
The two testicles, removed... |
Preparation of the incision for suturing... |
... it's quite a small area to suture... |
Dr. I goes in for the stitch... |
