Another reason to go raw -- AMEN!

Well, more news of the benefits of a raw diet for your pup -- !! Jaime writes...

"hi eric- i just wanted to thank you for suggesting the raw diet for my two year old pit bull, Capone.

i rescued Capone when he was a puppy.  he always had loose stools :( "

"When he hit about a year, he was still not house-trained... i would bring him out and he would go to the bathroom about 2-3 times and then come in the house to do a few more in an hour's time.

if i left him alone in a crate for a couple of hours, he would do the same --not to mention the fact that he would develop pimple-like sores on his head and would get bald patches on his back-- always neg. for mange"

" at the time, i was feeding him nutro-- through food trials, it was found that he had allergies to poultry and grains... fine.. i can deal with that. so i switched to nature's variety raw instinct kibble, then to evo, and then to timberwolf ocean blue- all grain free formulas.

the reason i went through these is because over 3 months time with each, he was not improving."

"i actually brought him to the vets because he was losing even more hair- skin scrapings were negative- i thought that grain/poultry free would have solved his problems??? i had the same result with all kibbles- i had tried them all - i still had a relatively incontinent and balding dog :( "

"so, thanks to your suggestion about switching to raw, capone is no longer having his GI or hair issues-- currently he is on the oma's lamb or beef mix (he still has the allergies to poultry) and he is doing fantastic- it has only been about a month or so and for the first time, he is where he should be -- "

"he is finally comfortable and acting like a normal dog.  he is now 2 years old and finally 100%.

he is house trained because he can hold it for more than 15 minutes!!

i am ever so thankful to you and to oma's pride.  you really made my dog's life better!

attached are some pics of my boy--"

Well, happier stories I couldn't imagine to read -- :D

I have known Capone for over a year, and he was always a reminder of how bad GI issues could be in a dog -- there's nothing good about a dog's (or owner's) quality of life when the pup has constant loose stool and he isn't able to be housebroken.
